FEAR AND LOATHING INSPIRED PSYCHEDELIC DESERT WALL ART
Somewhere around Barstow the paint started running, and nobody stopped it.
A desert highway runs straight at the horizon through saguaro and red mesa, except the road itself has dissolved into poured colour — black, crimson and turquoise running in wet ribbons toward the viewer. Above it the sky churns in bands of teal and orange around a pale sun, with bats scattered across it in hard silhouette.
Two faces fill the upper half: one in a bucket hat and orange aviators with the desert reflected in each lens, a cigarette holder clenched in his teeth; the other in a loud shirt and dark glasses. Both are melting at the edges, ink running off the jaw in long drips. Splattered, poured and flicked throughout — a picture painted the way the trip felt.

WHY VERTICAL ART WORKS
A tall piece draws the eye up and makes a wall feel higher than it is. One of
these over a console table, a bed or a sideboard fills the space a gallery wall
would, without putting nine holes in the plaster.
